Watershield Air Filters

We have a few engines with 40IDA 3C carbs Watershields fitted and I think that the gap between the end of the ram pipe and the filter plate is a bit marginal.

The standard ram pipe is 55mm long and the filter is 80mm. This leaves only
25mm (1") which is a bit too close for comfort.

I would like to see 37.5mm as a more realistic distance.

We are making a batch of ram pipes which are 30mm long and have a full roll. They will be a slide in design which I think are better than the flange type and will attach by laser welding a flange onto the pipe but leave the interna sleeve in place.

The sleeve will be slotted to deal with the aux. venturi

Up to now we have only made them for 40 and 45 DCOE but we will make the IDA versions during the next few days.

The decision about mounting depends on the cost of laser welding. If we can't afford to use this technique we may have to produce a small stepped washer.

We are targeting a price of $30/35 each.

The ones for the 40 and 45 DCOE are $25.00.

I have taken a few photo's of one of the 45DCOE Trumpets fitted into a 40IDA3C.

This trumpet is nominally 30mm tall but the sleeve inside the carb is too long and fouls on the aux. venturi, clealry we will correct this in the final version.

The 40/45 DCOE trumpets are available in 20, 30, 40 and 60mm length in red, blue and silver.

PMO makes shorter velocity stacks if you really feel you need them.
TWM also makes a short stack with full rounded lip.

40 DCOE A B C
2900-4035 40 35 80 FR
2900-4050 40 50 80 FR
2900-4075 40 75 80 FR
2900-40100 40 100 80 FR

The one below was special ordered for 52 mm center.
