What to do? Broken 1970 2.0T Piston
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...6/DSC00453.jpg
Right side of the shortblock: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...%206/PC456.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...6/DSC00471.jpg This is pretty much the condition of all: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...derWall1_A.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...4%206/Set1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...06/Valves1.jpg But, this is where the kicker is. I have been EXCEEDINGLY careful and gentle throughout this entire disassembly process with the magnesium parts. I am unsnapping the circlips that hold the wristpins to the pistons and this "piece" falls out onto the garage floor. In the back of my mind, I think, "Oh *****!" but tell myself not to worry. I examine the piece, and instantly realize it's a broken piece of the #2 cylinder! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...kenPiston2.jpg So, I'm now in panic mode. Guys & gals, what are my options?
 Thanks Pelicans in advance for your help, Pete . |
I have a NOS and used 2.0T pistons.
I can also supply a set of used, in-spec, OEM 2.0E or 2.0 normal pistons if you'd like to raise compression. PM me with your email for pics and prices. |
I think I have a used set of 2.2L pistons. They came out of a motor that lost a valve spring. I'll sell you all 6 for $50 + shipping. (I have to make sure they are 2.2L pistons first- and they are still in the garage.)

If you are interested we have a very nice set of 67 2.0"S" pistons and cylinders.
This set has been measured, honed and the top ring was replace with new Geotze. We also have a plethora of good used early pistons and cylinders. Here is the spec sheet on the cylinders. The pistons show no measurable wear. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1232736534.jpg |
