another deck height question
I'm reassembling a 3.3 turbo motor. No machining was done at all.
I am rebuilding using the same used pistons and cylinders (the case was not split). When I disassembled the motor, I had only one 0.25mm copper base gasket. I checked the deck height now as I have started the rebuild and can either get 1.15mm or 1.4mm with either one or two 0.25mm shims. The only change I am making to my engine is the SC cams which from my understanding have higher lift. Thoughts?

Mark,
Were your heads resurfaced (I hope they were)? Use one base (.25mm) gasket for your 1.15mm deck height: you will not have any piston-to-valve clearance issues.
