deck height puzzler.
 

i had my mag case machined for my rebuild.
ollies provided 1mm cylinder gaskets.
also had my heads done.
when i measure deck height i get no deformation of the 3 mm solder bits.
i think the solder is moving away from the edge of the cylinder on compression.
how can i get an accurate measurement?
btw its a 72 e

Try some clay in there then you can measure it with the back side of a caliper.
