Pelican solid rocker conversion kit?

Hello,

I am getting ready to do a solid rocker conversion on a dedicated track appliance. (993-nVR)
I have a few specific questions about this mod and would appreciate some input from the local experts who may have done this already. I have been researching this for a while and believe I have some understanding about the oiling issues that need addressing to do this correctly.

First, I would like to hear any experience here with the solid rocker conversion kit offered here at Pelican. I asked the Pelican staff who responded quickly but were unable to definitively answer my question so here it is.

Pelican Part #: 99-0341-043-M260

Is this a "plug and play" kit or will additional mods like re-bush and/or shaft/galley oiling mods still be needed.

Also, it has been recommended to me that the 993 cam tower oil splash bar should be modified or replaced with a 964 bar. I don't have them available to compare side by side to see the differences. I am assuming a few additional holes are needed to oil the intake valve springs/guides after the hydraulics are eliminated.

Any information on how they differ or specifics about the spray bar mod or any other info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The 964 is exactly like the earlier cam carriers except they have 6mm studs instead of 8mm.
The late 88 and 89 Carrera cam carriers were cast as 964 parts on the casting.

A friend of mine did the conversion a while ago. He got the old style rockers, pushed out the bushings turned them 90 degrees and pushed them back in again. That way you get an RSR-rocker (has no oiling hole) for a quater of the price.

Aren't the RSR rockers lighter than the old style rockers? Though that might not be all that important if you aren't trying to shift at 9,000 rpm or higher?
