Camshaft ID
Hello All,
I am in the process of rebuilding my 86 3.3 liter. There is a slight mystery to what kind of cams are currently installed. Unfortunately the motor has very limited documentation. The previous owner was not sure if the cams are SC or modified 930 cams. So, I am reaching out to my knowledgeable community here to get the mystery solved. Can someone tell me if these cams are SC or stock 930? Also, from all the pitting on some of the lobes, are these cams salvageable? Any help or input is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Daniel ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Those look like SC cams and I would send them back to Dema Elgin for repair. He can also make a positive ID on them, too.
The pitting is due to either clogged spraybars or insufficient ZDDP in the oil being used (or both). I'd be using Brad-Penn Racing 20w-50 in that engine.

I think you have Turbo cams that have been reground to SC specs.
