Cam shaft securing bar - 3 choices - much difference???
 

Just getting ready to order a camshaft securing bar for engine rebuild - 88 911. I see there are three choices offered from our host......is there really much of a difference between them apart from price point.

Porche OEM part 000-721-919-10 OEM $170

Cam Holding tool part 000-721-919-10 $120

Cam shaft securing bar part PEL TOL P237 $80

I found out our host sometimes uses different vendor for the same product and prices differ.

Example:$170 is Porsche, $120 OEM provider, $80 same as $120 just cheaper.

Call and ask them

Are you wanting this tool just to remove the bolt that holds the cam gear on? Use an impact and socket. Its not on that tight.

Off is easy, back on more challenging. Go with the cheap one unless you plan on many rebuilds.

The cheap one (SIR Tools brand) is plenty nice.
QSC makes a chinese knockoff also, which you can find for a bit less elsewhere (google).
