I have to do this soon and i was told about a update larger o-ring out of an SC

My records indicate the number eight seal hasn't changed (off the top of my head) since 1965...

There is an oversized pulley seal available, if that's what you mean...

I've heard the same thing, that the seals used in the 2.X liter motors were somewhat thinner and that the 3.0L seal was a good upgrade. Maybe they've all been superceded, or, maybe it's myth...

Either way, use the SC seal

I have a new SC #8 o-ring that I bought for my 2.7 rebuild, but didnt use it. Free to someone who needs it.
