BMW e30 no start
Hello All,
I am attempting to start my BMW 1990, 325I after being stored away for the winter. (I know wrong forum, but this forum is much more frequented than the BMW forum) The car cranks over no problem. I thought perhaps the plugs were fouled so I installed a new set....still no good. After numerous attempts I pulled a couple of the new plugs out and they are dry...dry as dry can be. So I am thinking no fuel, I loosened the fuel line going into the regulator and rail and there is pressure and fuel there. So....what is going on? How can I have fuel at the injector rail and none in the cylinders? What do I need to check?? Any input is highly appreciated!!! Thanks!!! mg |
Check the muffler bearings

go over to r3vlimited for all your e30 needs

Pull an injector and see if gas squirts out of it when cranking......

1) replaced the muffler bearings last fall so should be ok.
2) Been there 3) No squirt, but why? Thanks |
Not to try and boot you off the forum, but those recommendations are sound:

I had the same Sympton when I put an ej22 into my vanagon, it ended up being a bad ground in the harness. So the injectors were'nt firing. Can you check power at each injector?

I believe I have a bad fuel pump or fuel pump relay!
Thanks mg |
Happened to me with my E46 325. Was running fine, stopped to grab a sandwich and it wouldn't start after. Bad fuel pump.

Yep fuel pump or most likely the relay, don't worry about the other silly comments everyone has to start somewhere, the fuel pump relay is more common failure wise but if the car has been sitting the pumps tend to gunk up,check the power connects to the pump ,Bosch pumps are voltage dependant and need 12V to work ,good luck.
