Fuse Oversizing

So what are the potential negative impacts of putting a 15 amp fuse in a 5 amp slot for the diversity antenna in my '06 530 xi T? Can't afford the stealer's quote of $500 to $1500 diagnosis time to find the short.

The problem with over fusing is that you run the risk of melting the wiring, that in turn could cause any wires that are bundled also to melt and short or even a fire, in effect causing you many more problems than you have now.

Perhaps if you could describe the symptoms you are having more fully then we could attempt to help you isolate the problem.
