325i convertiable

Hi Everyone,
I have just found a low mileage (loged) 325i, above average
condition, I am considering the car as an every day car for
my wife. As we have never owned a convertiable before are
they as weather proof as the BMW sales rep reckons.
Please help as we dont want to find out the wet way.
safe driving,
Russell

I bought my wife one, because it was her "dream car." Well, several thousands of dollars later, it's the least favorite of the BMWs (I've got five right now because I'm writing a book on the 3-Series). She's pregnant, so the 2-door wouldn't work for her anyways. Her chief complaint about the convertible was that it was too cold with the top down (she gets cold easily). I didn't think that she would like it, but I wanted one too. Well, I quickly realized that unless I had tons of suntan lotion on, it wasn't a good idea to keep the top down. I always thought I was a convertible guy, but once I bought one, I realized, not too much. I like the cars with the removable hard tops (targa tops) better...

She also didn't like the fact that the car was noisy on the highway, when compared to the 3-Series coupe that I have. She liked it quiet, and I have to agree on that one. I just bought here a 1998 5-Series E39 sedan, which she loves (I like it too). It's peppy, and it feels like I'm driving in my living room. The seats in that car are way more comfortable than any couch or barco-lounger I have in my house!

Hope this helps,

Wayne

P.S. The convertible did leak...

Thanks Wayne,
This is just the type of reply I needed, I think we will keep looking
at what else is available in the price range.
