A part Pelican needs to offer
I've had a few M42 powered bimmers. Every last one had several stripped bolts for the valve cover. Fortunately M42's use a dozen or more, but there's a part of me that wants them all to be doing their job.
First of all, a correctly sized stud conversion kit would be a piece of cake to offer and seems like it would sell. Secondly, maybe offer studs that are just a tiny bit bigger. Enough that they thread in and self tap the stripped holes, but the top half of the stud could be the correct size and pitch etc. If that makes sense. Too much to ask? |

Seems like something that makes sense, it would not be that hard to produce,
I can't remember, are they 6mm studs or 8?, I would assume 6mm, easy to strip. Maybe a kit that had inserts to repair stripped threads and the right studs. If anyone can do it, Pelican can, see what they say.

Without measuring, they look like 6mm to me. factory torque spec is "however tight an infant can turn a 1/4 ratchet" or something like that. One guy works on the car who doesn't know this and yer up a creek.
