318ti club sport horsepower

I have a 1995 318ti club sport.

Love the handling, hate the power.

I've got a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket, and wonder if I would be better off with a supercharger kit or a 6cyl & xmsn from a '93 to '95 OBD I 325 (My tight wad sensibilities would give me a rash if I spent 5 to 7 grand on an '95 M3 motor and trans when a wrecked 325i can probably be had for 4 to 5000 complete with brake and cooling package).

I've got reasonable access to a machine shop etc. and a spare car if this is going to take a while

The car has 113,000 miles on it and a year old clutch.
