Front Wheel Changing Lift Stand (How it work?)
I am almost ready for a new rear tire and have been ordering various factory parts and tools for the new K12S.
Has anyone actually seen the lift BMW reccomends for changing the front tire? We can not figure how it works but have ordered one anyway. Any knowledge or help in this direction will be appriciated. The tool as shown does not explain how it works or fastens to the front so that the bike can be lifted and then the front wheel removed for tire change or other reasons. Very expensive aftermarket tools. Also have not been able to get a part number for the rear wheel hub adaptor that one would use to balance the tire on a dynamic (old style0 balancer. Any help with that number which would be the same as the one for the new R1200GS (I assume)? BMW is recommending their 10W50 oil...............and there is almost none to be had. Order yours now so that you will have it when you need it. |

Jim,
If you have a pic of the rear hub tool I can probably make one. I did this for my S, which also works on K bikes even back to dp's K100RS. I just finished cloning a plug lead puller for the GS, so these things, if simple enough are not hard to machine so don't send all that money to BMW...give me some. ![]() ps...the standard Pit Bull front stand won't work?
