BMW Key Fobs
Since BMW has switched to keyless ignitions-- other than for the RNineT-- BMW key fobs are no longer offered.
Here in Northern California, new BMW R1200S and other current models were provided to buyers with the following fobs: ![]() As you can see, my fob above is very tired. I'd like to retire my fob if I can find another stock unit Anyone out there possess such a fob in new or like-new condition and willing to part with it? If so, please PM me and I will get back to you within a few days. **Apologies if maybe this should have been listed in the Classifieds section, instead. |

LOL,
It's from a daily rider w/ 139,000. Apart from all the peeling, the thickness has shrank by over half. It's a real eyesore on the bike and flimsy to withdraw from the pants pocket. Still, I haven't been able to swap for perfectly good non-stock BMW fobs I've collected over the decades-- a mentality that matches the condition of the fob, LOL. |

I have a collection of dozens of key fobs I've accumulated over the years. Just can't get myself to switch from original BMW stock 2007. Again, thanks for trying. |

Mark R1200S, did you buy that bike new?
Because I don't think they were just giving away at the dealer when you took delivery. It was part of the package that was sent later...

Yes. It shows that you were actually riding. Just like worn boots, a badge of honor...

I have the key fob (as shown above) and leather zip-up binder, containing notepad, etc..
The same key fobs in the New Owner Kit were sold over the years as an over-the-counter accessory at BMW dealerships. But not anymore. Have been looking on eBay for some time now with no luck. |

So, then did you buy that key fob new from the dealer, or did it just come with the bike?
I have bought plenty of BMW's new, R1100S, R1200S, F800GS's, an R nineT, and have never been offered a key fob, just a T-shirt... I just looked at this one and it's box and I do not see a part number anywhere. Do you have the part number?

Key fob provided new with bike (I have elements of new owner kit but not original boxes w/PNs).
I have to say, these were prolific key fobs for new bikes sold in Northern California back in the mid/late 2000's. At the shop, we would encounter many such contemporary model bikes with these fobs. I also remember seeing them offered at the BMW dealership as gifts, in the glass display case. But the BMW Motorrad catalogs (online in PDF) don't include them. They would be a 72 parts number grouping but don't show up on online fiche searches. I've spent my time limit, researching this. Anyone come across one they are willing to let go of, please let me know. Many thanks for all the feedback. --Mark |

Shout-out here to forum member JTS for sending me a stock BMW key fob (circa first decade of the 2000's), to replace mine which was worn out.
Most kind, JT. |
