Bar Keepers Friend is Your Friend

I had forgot, this is what I used on the stainless pipes on my R1100s. Found it in the cabinet and it, plus a Scotch-Brite pad or just a rag, made very fast work of the brown/gold stain on the R1200S Remus headers.... This is just a first 15 minute pass...

Just an FYI to be added to the book of detailing tricks... Comet or others won't work. It has to be the Bar Keepers ...

Pipes with baked in color

Cleaned Up...

Every grocery store, or Amazon if not.

Be sure it's the cleaner and polish. Not just the cleaner. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I don't know.

Do you see the steel BMW bike lift on the floor... It needs quite a bit of polishing, and I have two of them!

Those pipes look gorgeous.
Will they stay that way for awhile or can you coat them with something to keep them that way.

I'd say if you just went over them once or twice a year for five minutes with the stuff when washing the bike you'd be happy.

Really, that was only less than 10 minutes per side to get all the brown off. To do them right I'd have to take the pipes off.
