Spotted A R1100S At Dealership in Illinois

I traveled from Michigan to Roseville, Illinois with a friend earlier this week to pick up his new Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello. While he was completing the paperwork I wondered around the shop looking at their used bike inventory. I spotted a nice black 1999 R1100S sporting an Olins rear shock, custom seat (although I couldn't identify it) and panniers. They were asking $6499, marked down from $6999! Have the prices of these bikes spiked in the last year or so? I haven't been keeping up.
Also, parked next to the S was a Motus! How many of those have you ever seen? It's a pretty unique motorcycle. How cool is that??

Not a lot of information here, like mileage and condition, etc. But figure the dealer probably gave a $3,500 - $4,000 trade-in allowance and is trying to make some profit. So that's built in, which a private seller wouldn't have. It does have the hard luggage, which some people want.

Mileage was 58K. Overall condition was good and it appeared to be well taken care of.

I guess I would like that to be the value. The S has and always will be a niche bike though. Prices are all over the spectrum and it takes the right person walking in and wanting one. The people on one of the Facebook S sites want to believe...

If the dealer is watching recent BAT sell-prices (even the recent beat and incorrect BCR) I can see a dealer jacking up the price of S’ and BCRs.

This is the only vehicle 'enthusiast' (and I used the word loosely) site that in many ways praises the model while a the same time appears to intentionally devalue our bikes. Nice work.
