Bmw rear paddock stand

I purchase this one from BMW for my R1200S.
What I have noticed that shafts that goes trough rear wheel is inclined rather than being welded parallel to the stand.
This causes bike to lean slightly to the right once it is lifted on the stand.
I was wondering if it was designed like that in order to shift bike weight to the right or simply my stand is defective.
Does anybody have one to confirm this?

Thanks

How inclined? (Maybe they saw your name and thought you wanted an angled version).

I can't check mine right now but I thought it was perfectly straight when lifted. It's designed to go on either side dependent on the bike, but regardless the kick stand is on the same side...

I want to buy this stand, but because of the way it stick out from the rear of the bike, it will not fit in my garage. Do you know of a good rear stand that doesn't protrude past the rear wheel?

If you notice, I take the handle out once the bike is up. Don't know if that would work for you or not.

The other alternative is the Pit Bull. There's several posts on the board about the stands.

The Pitt Bull forward handle works great and doesn't stick out past the rear wheel.

This thing works on the left or right side, for an R or K bike, if you want to run the handle forward set it up for a K, .....jeez

Should of gotten Pit bulls BMW stand. Cheaper, and better.

This is how it looks like.
Still not sure if it was designed like this or simply defective.

Here's mine...

Yes, there is a slight cant to it. It must be designed to be a little safer that way.

I lined it up with the tiles to aid in your study. Are you missing the black tube?

Rob, you can change your guess, after all, who'd know?

No need to second guess Craig though.

I had to change my assumption from the beginning also!

And, I now remember why I picked this stand over the Pit Bull (Which I bought for the front).

1. This stand is cheaper at Chicago BMW than the Pit Bull. I paid $159

but more of interest

2. The ability to disassemble it to store, or transport. It becomes a nice flat package. I don't even put the bolts in it.

The design LOOKS the same as those sold by Ducati. Not sure who actually makes it though.
