Ralf: *&%$&** -- I've been following this thread avidly and this trip of yours has resulted in brake failure, tire failure, clamp failure, cold and rain and possibly gangrene feet! Next I'm gonna hear a moose ate you! You're out there by yourself (albet lots of good pelicans helping and supporting you) but still! Fine! Continue on this quest of yours, but note, you are making me worried! I check this thread three times a day! Now be a good boy and stay with civilization and out of the rain. You're gonna come home with pneumonia. Keep your boots on, and oh, enjoy the rest of the trip. But stay dry and hurry up and come home. Love, the pseudo wife/mom.

Cyndy, you need to bit*h-slap him for using that crappy tire...at the very least.
Just think of this as a shakedown cruise for the round-the-worlder. When I ran the shop at Alaska Fun Center in Fairbanks (Hi Gabrielle and Bill) I had a guy come in with a KLR650 with 47K on the clock. Needed new chain and sprockets. He started in Norway, rode the P-D route, put it on a boat, did the outer rim in 'strailia and came to AK from Tierra Del Fuego. that guy was tough

LOVE IT!~ Thanks to all for the humor, I NEEDED THAT! No offense, Peter but Calgary blows... I darm near got taken off my bike three times by some idiots on cellphones and in apparent rushes... I am in Dead Man's Flat at the Bighorn Motel...AWESOME FOLKS, in case anyone ever needs to stay here... my bike is in their private garage! The next town over is one of the foofy expensive ones and Banff was to far, after driving in the rain through and out off calgary and this being yet another day that could not help itself to stay dry, it was motel and hot shower time. I am feeling it, folks... More pics in a little while... good stuff!

...allrighty then, here we go:
First Order of the day (whichever day it was..) was a new tire. I called Leiland Honda/Suzuki... super friendly, super helpful and super quick! I took the wheel off for them and less than 10 minutes later the kid came out of the shop again with a fresh Anakee mounted... same as the front!   ...along the river on the way to the park.  ...the mountains start to appear in the picture.   ...I got pictures of Bridges as well...  ...and more mountains.  Some snow...  And here is the the sign (not on the west side, but still...) I MADE IT!

Thanks for posting Ralph.
That tire looks MUCH better than the one you replaced it with. It should last longer too. Now that the brakes aren't on full time.
