For Sale HP2 Sport

Due to the small number of HP2 Sports in the world, this thread is for advertising your HP2Sport if you decide to sell it. (All other extraneous posts will be removed)

OK, is this for real? What the heck happened? I figured they would bury you with the bike. Man this comes as a bit of a shock. Do tell.

macfly 11-10-2009 07:18 AM

I sent you a PM, I could be interested.

Guest24 11-10-2009 06:22 PM

The fact is, I had a great time riding it in the Eastern Continental Divide Run. So, I guess I'm withdrawing the sale. I made this mistake when I impulsed sold the 900SS/SP Final Edition. It would be hard to do the riding I did this past weekend on the RT.

macfly 11-10-2009 07:24 PM

Thats good to hear! Since you are keeping it do you have any thoughts/reservations or advice for a potential owner? I found out today from BMW NA that the LE will not be coming to the USA sadly, so I'm now thinking of getting a used HP2 and repainting it in LE replica colors as I love the way it looks.

Funnily enough the sweetest bike to ride I ever owned was a heavily breathed on 900SL with 92rwhp and a Corbin seat - and the Corbin seat really made the bike! :-) I rode that thing from LA to Laguna and all through the Sierras a few times, it was the most enjoyable road bike I've owned to date.

2008 BMW HP2 Sport non-ABS for Sale

I am a longtime BMW Motorcycle owner and it is with some sadness that I decided to sell my baby...

I have a 2008 HP2 Sport non-abs with less than 1,000 mi for Sale.

Reason I'm selling it is I don't have much time to ride it and I also have a 2007 K1200s tri-color that I save for my long distance trips. (to date, it has 4,300 mi).

Therefore, I thought I would let someone else enjoy it.

Please PM me if you're interested... serial number is 21.

Regards,

Pat

2008 BMW HP2 Sport Non-ABS with Pics

Allright, for those of you who PM'd me, I'm attaching pics this time so you can see the work of art that is the HP2.

It has a little over 1,000 mi - once again, non-abs model. I am the first and only owner and have babied this ride since the day I received it.

The serial number is 2008 ZS70021.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1265763563.jpg

If any of you are interested, please PM me. It will most likely be going to a dealer, although I would hate to see it go there, I think that a private sale would be much better. I have all papers (title, copy of certificate of origin) and BMW HP2 Toolbag, all books, master and valet keys, and books. (I bought it form a BMW dealer new).

Thanks!

Price might help generate interest?

GermanAutoNut 02-12-2010 11:04 AM

Why not trade it for a tricked out S1000RR and then sell it at that low price.

GermanAutoNut 02-12-2010 11:34 AM

I already have a K1200s that I barely ride.

GermanAutoNut 02-12-2010 11:37 AM

Plus I've been lucky enough to ride the S1000rr and although a very fast and agile machine, it certainly is not the same quality build and same ride experience than the HP2 sport. In car terms I would compare it to driving a BMW 135i 'vs' driving an M3. They're just very different.

Very nice price. Shouldn't last long.

Best Deal I've Seen and I Track These Carefully

German's HP2S non'ABS is priced below Kelly BB recommended trade-in. This is a better buy for a boxer sportbike buyer than the S1000RR with the normal add-ons. I've only tracked one other HP2S at this extreme price and it was sold by a dealer in AZ that wanted it off the showroom floor. The AZ bike required sales tax. In a state like Georgia, sale tax does not apply to transactions between two private parties.

macfly 02-14-2010 07:57 AM

Bubba, I think you are going to see this become the new normal. I've been tracking the prices too, and was just about to buy one when a chance conversation with someone who'd ridden and raced both extensively told me he really preferred the R1200S, hence I got the S. I'm still tracking the HP2S's as I do kind of want one too, but it really seems like they just aren't selling.

Guest24 02-14-2010 03:45 PM

I think it has more to do with the economy. We'll see if the S1000RR has a similar problem.
