I would agree, I had a 2005 R1200RT last year and managed to ride it over 10,000 miles in about 5 months. I installed a Z Technik windshield and a Russell Day Long Saddle on it which really made the bike for me.

Here it is Bubba. Another one that I should have kept.

You want to make an RT look big...park it by a Ducati.

Congrats on the HP2 purchase.

Dave, you are invited to the Bikehaus for the spring thaw. I'd like to get at least 6 HP2S's there to match the Dutch gathering in the HP2S forum. I'm going to be there in plenty of time in case some riders want to ship in some tyres and personal items too large to backpack.

Come ride with us in North Georgia if you ever can get to the GMR on that first weekend in May. I paid more for my R1200S than you paid for a barely uses HP2.......and trust me........there is a BIG difference. Wow, what a nice deal.
Thanks for the invite Doc, I will put North Georgia on my schedule for next May and see if I can make that work. With the weather turning colder here in Iowa I will be doing a lot of trip planning in the garage throughout the winter while playing with my new toy.

Throw in a Duc Multistrada 1200 (Feb), a GS Adv, and a K13 and the mix even better Bubba!

Likely the Sport model. With the RT, Adv, and HP2S seems the choice right now. My first departure from BMW other than when I started riding in 2003 and first bike was an HD Road King/ And wish the MS had a shaft, or even a belt. But, 'chain wax' ain't all that bad I guess. But thought only BMW had monster tall bikes, but seems the Duc 1200MS also a tall one.

Well John.........if you ever want some photo op's of your bikes together......give me a call and I will be glad to come over to where ever they are and scoot that MS for a while while someone takes shots of us riding it and the HP2 together. I am sure others would step forward for this duty if I can not make it. Good talking to you and that is one nice collection you are putting together. Don't forget to get a Classic R11S at some point thought.........as those bikes of 10 years ago started the whole Oilhead Sport trend.

I've always loved WHITE bikes but somehow buying a Duc other than red (kinda like a Ferrari other than red) seems silly. But, red is not one of my favorite colors either? Hmmm, Red it will be!

You are rolling around in my head with that showroom 11S Jim! Great chat with you too...hope Mom doing ok! Good genes go a long way! Here's a picture of the RT with very dark gray Cee Bailey screen I love black and the RT in black is what sold me on getting another one after I sold my '08 to Bubba. Hmmmm, maybe the Duc MS in 1200 in black?

Yes Red it will be! I think that Ducati has a winner on their hands!
Also I am wondering if the Saddle bags are removable like they
are on the Bmw's ? plus it has a 5.5 gal gas tank!

This bike MS that is exciting: various modes via switch, slipper clutch, and wet clutch also. I have to look at pix and wonder if the sport model can accommodate the touring bags????? Heck, let's run this puppy over the 20K plus, huh? My guess is that at low RPM's the Duc's engine's torque not much better than my ADV but after the RPM's kick in likely a wow factor.

Sorry for OT stealing thread.

Go here.
Currency Calculator - CalculatorWeb

11,250 British Pound = 18,585.6 US Dollar
Too much. I'm still waiting for it to go under $15k.
