2026 bmw r 1300 rs
Anyone else interested/excited about the '26 R 1300 RS?
I still have have strong feelings for my R12S. It continues to be a keeper. At 18+ years young still looks great and continues to provide all the thrills I need. I am, however, tempted to add another motorcycle to the mix. I've owned GS moderls and they continue to be right at the top of my list Enter the R1300RS! Looks tasty! https://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/en/models/sport/r1300rs.html#/section-highlights-for-high-performers ![]() |

It does look quite nice. I have been considering an R1250RS next. If only they could remove 50 lbs.

I just happened to be at the local multi dealership on Friday last. They have BMW, Ducati, Motoguzzi, Triumph and Aprilia. Three floors all under one roof. Cruised around looking at all the very interesting new models but had to get out of there. It was a very dangerous place with long tentacles into my bank account. All the new models sure are nice, though.

I look at the R1250RS as a further iteration of the R1100S and R1200S. More powerful, more tech, etc.
Somehow I have all three in the collection now... I would be curious how much better the R1300RS would be over the R1250RS. But, I have other bikes in mind also... Never did get ahold of an HP2 Sport though....

You would need to get the matching leathers.

The look of the front of the R1300RS looks similar to the Suzuki GSX-S 1000GT, also a good looking machine.

Last year at a course at BMW in Greer, SC they rolled out the whole product line for us to test ride. The electric scooter, F900GS, R12, S1000R and XR, R1250RT, GS and RS, K1600GT and R18. The one that felt the best to me was the R1250RS. The ride position and overall feel mirrored my R1100S and I was instantly comfortable. If I were shopping used that would be my target. If new I would wait for the R1300RS, and see how much of the whizbangery I can ignore until curiosity gets the better of me. It's moot unless the getaway drone from a bank heist has a malfunction right over my back yard.
