Fuel Pump Recall-HP2 Sport

Has anyone with an HP2 Sport brought their bike in for the fuel pump recall yet? It sounds pretty straightforward, but I was wondering how much shop time it took and if your dealer had the parts in stock for it. I was hoping it was something I could schedule with my dealer and wait on.

Both of my bikes go in on Tuesday.
The HP2 also has a recall on the cam sensor ring, which will be done on Tuesday also.

If the fuel pump is not cracked it should only take them an hour.....remove body work......install reinforcement clamp around fuel pump.
If the pump is cracked, then they need to replace the unit.

I'll let you know how this works out.

Cheers

I just had the fuel pump on my 2010 Sport replaced and got the new style one. Glad it was still under warranty. I brought my bike in with the tank cover removed so it didn't get damaged

Its a recall szazbo, warranty has nothing to do with it.

I was not aware of the cam sensor ring issue Bryan. Is this something new?

I'm not really sure Jeff..........was just told the HP2 needed the ring done also. So I don't know if it was a recall or something specific to my bike?

I'll know more on Tuesday.

Cheers

If I recall correctly I believe it is actually a Service Action, supposed to cure intermittent slow speed stumbling or stalling.

I had the carbon removed before handing the HP2 over to the dealer, the job took about 1 1/2 hours including doing the fuel pump recall and the cam sensor ring.

The 12S took about 15 minutes to take care of.

Cheers

I'm sure the tech appreciated the partial disassembly of the carbon bits, as recalls and service actions pay in full whether there is overlap or partial disassembly already performed.

I don't doubt that..........I managed to get to the dealership early so made good use of my time.

Also reinstalled the body work on the 12S and had the bike loaded up just in time to put the HP2 into the trailer.
Installed the HP2 body work once I got home to the shop.

Even had a nice Espresso at the Ducati dealership a few doors down.

All in all a nice relaxing day after my first graveyard shift.

Cheers

Hey Shred. My bike is under the factory 3/36 warranty and the fuel pump called it quits. They replaced it with the new reinforced one. Now just need to do the Megamoto. Anyway a recall is warranty in the eyes of the dealer

Hi, I just went in to the dealership complaining about the R1200S smelling of petrol and being heavy on juice.
I was told there is a Service action for the issue, I hope it's this and not something that will cost me an arm and a leg.
So bike is going in 1 April and I get a GS to play with while she is in.
I can barely get 200km range on a full tank.

Im not sure my R12S got much more than that, but I didn't think anything was wrong with it.

Jeff;

It is my stint at graveyard shift at work......about every 2 months I do one week from 0030 to 0800.
It's not so bad, after 3 days I am used to it, then I get 7 days off.
Anything is better than working day shift.
I just hate how many bosses I have running around bothering me when I work 0800-1630.

Cheers

You wouldn't happen to have the SA # for the stumbling/stalling issue, would you? I can't seen to find it.
