Where is the best place to buy Odyssey Batteries?

I am looking to buy an Odyssey PC 680 Battery and Odyssey 6 Amp Ultimizer charger.

I am wondering if I can find a better place to buy from than a local Batteries Plus store? I have gone there before and it is ok for sure but I wonder if there is a better place to get a battery that hasn't been sitting around a long time for a good price.

So, where would you say is the best place to buy Odyssey Batteries?

Advice is most welcome. Thanks,

Pc 680

I like WandererR11S got batteries from SEP (Stored Energy Products). I have a PC680 now in my R1100s that I bought from them. The battery was fresh when I got it.

I spoke to them on the phone to order and the woman was very helpful and friendly.

SEP looks good. That is the kind of place I was looking for. Thanks for the posts about SEP.

Costco? Didn't see Odyssey or PC 680 there. Maybe I didn't look at the right web page?

I just bought one today from Amazon.. $106 shipped
They must be fresh, they seem to get a shipment of 15 or so, then they sell out real fast...

Don't know if I need one or not, but since I put the last one in back around 2005, it seems like a smarter move than getting stuck (again).

I double checked and it's actually an Odyssey PC680-P battery. (P) for Powersports...

You can just buy direct from the source here:
ODYSSEY Batteries - Find a Battery

http://shop.odysseybattery.com/p/pc680-p

Or,
Amazon, but they are again out of stock. Be sure to use the actual Amazon reseller, as seller information. Put in your cart, they'll have more in a day or two...

Go down to your LOCAL motorcycle shop and SUPPORT THEM!

So what if you pay an extra $10, do you think amazon or SEP really needs your support?
Your local friends are there when you need them, not 7-10 days out!
A place to talk and ask questions, try on gear and make new friends.
Can't get that if the shop closes.

My local shop sells BMW/Exide and Shorai. The only place I've found to buy Odyssey locally for me is, in fact, Batteries Plus.

And as much as I love my local dealer (which is up for debate now that they've been bought out by a multi-line conglomerate), it WOULD still take 7-10 days to special-order a battery, and I'd have to drive 60 miles round trip to pick it up.

Amazon delivers to my house within 2 days and Batteries Plus is 3 miles away with stock on the shelf.

Some things just aren't worth the added time, cost, and hassle of going through a local dealership. I still buy all of my gear locally, but my next pair of boots may not come locally, because my dealer doesn't sell any boots that fit me correctly.

Agree with squall_line.

I've spent most of my adult life living in small/tiny towns, primarily on the Western Slope of Colorado.

Buying local, used to be the catchphrase. As much as I try to, it's just not worth the "SALE" of 5-10% off retail, or some of the local "take it or leave it" attitudes, where they almost resent your being there. Sure, I have my local favorites these days, but one fact of life is that I'm not going to make an excessive contribution simply to keep someone in business. I can't afford myself...

Amazon is one of the best things that ever happened to small town consumers. Drinking and on-line shopping are great past times. Sorry also, that these towns lose out on the 10-12% sales tax (once 4%) so they can build Taj Mahal style city buildings, rec centers, police stations...

By the way, I'm working for a small town business that uses Amazon and one of it's many sales models to sell a portion of it's products. It's simply another sales outlet. We keep inventory there, Amazon sells it under their name... We get the profits which flow back into this town. It gives us national and international visibility. I guarantee that's what's going on with the Odyssey batteries, and the profit flows back to the company in it's town.

I went to the local Batteries Plus and they wanted $195 for the PC310 that I ended up buying online from Apex Battery for $145. Of course the Batteries Plus guy didn't have it in stock but could get it for me. I just don't see why I need to pay the local guy $50 to have him do the same thing I can do for free.

On the bright side I did successfully negotiate with the local Honda dealer for the timing belt job on my car, which was totally unexpected. It never hurts to ask.

That's interesting. Years ago I switched from my Honda dealer to my local guys when the dealer wanted $1200 for the timing belt, etc. and my reliable local shop did it for $700.

Im lucky here in the Bay Area, lots of shops to choose from and they need to be competitive to keep us coming back......

I see your point about small town and mail order, that's a tough one to solve. If your neighbor that runs the shop can't make rent and closes, moves out/forecloses on his home, how does that benefit the community? OTOH, I've experienced the small town attitude of 'you got no choice, bend over and pay'.....

None.
But if you do find one for $110 OTD, buy it...that's the lowest price I've seen lately.
They're going up in price - last one I bought several yrs. ago was less than $80 from...

I got mine from Ben at Ben's Motorcycle Works,
Don't remember the price, but do remember him helping me get the bike back together when I did clutch and drive shaft replacement, plus looks the bike over and gives advice every time I stop in.
Found spongy brake lines on my bros RT.
Sponsors moto movies at the theater when they come out.

I would hate to lose his shop. I would feel like crap if I only went to him for free advice, while buying stuff on amazon.

I am an oddly built dude, need to try on gear before I buy. If my local swag shop doesn't have it, I might drive to Cycle Gear, but have had little luck getting sized right online.

If you go to the link Shreddr posted here Odyssey PC680 Motorcycle Battery

Then also use the coupon APEX5, it's only $94.04 for an Odyssey PC680
