Diane and I found the Canadians to be courteous drivers when we toured on our bikes over a decade ago. They would move over to let us by, seeing that we were quicker.

With American-Canadian relations they way they are now, though, who knows?

Let me apologize to you Canadians for what's going on currently. With both our executive and legislative branches of government in the hands of the president's party, there's not much many of us regular folks can do here until Nov. 6, but we'll be speaking our minds then about what's going on.

I've been to Newfoundland many times. I would say just be patient on the Ferry, its a long boat ride (12 hrs) if I recall (I am assuming you are not driving to Labrador as most of it is dirt roads). But the ride up to the Maritime is very nice. I am originally from Rimouski, QC, so I've spent lots of time riding around the Gaspe Peninsula.
Corner Brook is a nice small town with lots of Park trail riding. You must spend some time in St-John's; they take their Viking heritage very seriously up there.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip. I am going up to Mont Washington again, at the end of next week for a 4 days bike trip.

i did NFLD back in 1979, the ferry from North Sydney to Prt aux basque requires a reservation now, they may not be as problematic for a motorcycle, but i'd recommend bring your own tiedowns. we came back from argentia which means we actually saw open water, the boat went up and down, needed pills to keep it together.

your into lobster season in Nova Scotia in july. i'd be willing to ride with you i hadn't already made other commitments, just for the lobster...

i should add when you get to Nova Scotia they Tourist welcome center have a very extensive list of B&B's. we did Nova Scotia and PEI staying B&B's exclusively when i took the family in 2011, if you have some idea of the schedule you could make reservations.
