Waterpump Question
About 49k miles on the waterpump in my 98 base. I am looking at replacing it. I am wondering what type of impeller is recommended metal or composite? I have read that the metal impeller has a tendancy to grind the block when the WP bearings go, permanenly damaging the block. Just because of that I'm inclined to use a composite impeller pump. Any thoughts?

W/pump
Highly recommended that you use the composite impeller. If the block is ever damaged by a metal impeller, no replacement w/pump will ever function efficiently.

Thanks, that is exactly how I see the issue. Good to get another opinion.
