Resonance Valve Boxster S

Hello, can anyone help with this problem please,my Boxster S (2001 RHD tiptronic), the resonance valve on tick over is making a "chattering" sound and vibrating, the sound stops immediately if you disconnect the electrical connection to the suction solenoid valve,the car also hesitates at about 5000 rpm and then picks up again.Can anyone advise the best way to trace this problem back on the electrics.
