Boxster roof drain

Hey guys, the right rear roof drain has been leaking into the car. I went thru the air hose down the drain process and it still leaks into the car. Poured in a full glass of water to measure what came out, and just a little bit came out So I pulled the boot apart and I'm puzzled how it works at all. Basically at the bottom of the boot is a short tube about 3/4" inch in diameter. That goes into a smaller diameter hose that goes down thru the car body. The larger tube fits loose over the smaller tube, so how can that possibly work? Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have the same problem. I thought I cleared out all the drains, from the top and from the bottom. But I still get a little water behind the driver's side seat. To the point that I am going to pull the seat and wrap the computer in plastic so that it will be more "waterproof" if needed. It should be dirt simple but it isn't.

Repair or replace the foam drain tray. When the rods break, they usually make a hole in the tray. (rodents like to chew on it too) It can be patched with black silicone. I tried that on my Boxster but they were so torn up, I replaced both. Got a used pair on Ebay for $ 60. EZ to change, just remove the top and there they are.

So the short piece is supposed to be attached to the long piece? I'm thinking some rtv and goop it back together then. The boot appears to be in good shape.
