Heater not producing hot air
I have a 2000 boxstera and I noticed a sweet smell coming from my vents with out producing heat. I changed the heater core that I purchased from Pelican Parts. When I pulled the old heater core out, the bottom pan area was dry, no signs of leakage. I installed the new one and I still get the sweet smell and no heat! Any ideas?

I really wish someone would have answered you. I'm about to try and solve the same problem. Did you ever figure it out?

Possible causes:
-Coolant level low -Heater core lines clogged - Heater core valve failed/disconnected With all of these the heater core will not warm up. Other causes: The mix flaps have disintegrated (foam bits coming out of vents). The heater core gets hot but no air is being circulated through the core. It is likely one of these things. Use the process of elimination and you will find it.
