Cam deviation
Just swapped a new motor into my friends car. I also have the Schwaben diagnostic scanner.
It is showing a cam deviation on one bank of -8degrees, and -1 on the other. But when i click on cam actual values, it shows them as less than .25 of a degree apart. Yet at 3,000 rpm only one of the cam actual value changes. We have checked and pretty sure both solenoids are connected as well as both cam position sensors. Can anyone educate me on how the deviation can be so far apart, yet actual cam positions are within a 1/4 of a degree of each other. |

I would pose this question to our forum dedicated specifically to the Boxster / Cayman - the community there is immensely knowledgeable and can likely guide you to some earlier threads where this was discussed.

Did you ever get a reasonable answer to your question about cam deviation vs actual values? |
