I flashed my lights at an SC on Sat and not knowing if he saw them, I waited to catch his attention and waved. We were at an intersection. He looked at me like I was nuts. A little later, I waved at 2 guys in a Boxster that were in the lane next to me. No response. Then I waved at a girl in a Boxster, she wouldn't look over. All this while I was in my Boxster. I'm thru with waving. Some old traditions just don't work anymore.

I always wave from my Boxster . . . particularly for 914s. Waved at a 14 here in Seattle (plt 914-6) and didn't get squat.

I'm gonna give up!

God told me he was going to destroy most the world... but if I could find one friendly Boxster owner *that didn't own a 914* he'd spare all of the NOS injection parts for those who were left..

Oh, and I forgot. On same Sat, a 914 pulled up right behind me at an intersection. I had the top down and I looked in the mirror and stuck my hand (not my finger) in the air but not a backwards girl's wave. Nothing. No, I'm done. I'm just gonna pick a $50 dollar steak out of my teeth. That'll be a good trick since I haven't eaten meat for 18 years.

I routinely wave at everything Porsche ever made. Hell, if I drove past a field being tilled up by a Porsche Diesel tractor, I'd wave.

Case in point: tonight coming home from the airport, I exchanged waves and smiles with a gorgeous black 930 Cab's owner.

I do it. And I try not to get too flummoxed when the gesture isn't returned.

No I'm just kidding. I'm overly wavy. I wave and flash Porsches when I'm in my Audi too. 914's get honk and headlamp wink.

I own a Boxster and have owned a couple 914's. I've tried the wave and to be honest I'm close to done with it myself. I'm not sure what the deal is but I had more response from 914 owners when out in the 914. I guess it's that whole tribe thing when it comes to 914 owners. Seeing another 914 I knew what they were going through to keep it on the road.

For the two years I have owned my Porsche I have only gotton a handful of waves but in my new Mini just yesterday I got 5 waves and three of them were people in Honda's. I guess the waving and flashing moved over to the Englist cars now. P.S. keep the flash alive.

I had a delivery truck guy wave to me in my 914 this morning, does that count?
