Steering warning on dash

I was driving about 4 miles this morning when I got a message which was rather short something about steering effort. Too quick for me to read it and also drive. About 18 min. later when was on the fwy off ramp the message came up, again too quick to read. Got to my destination with a quick turn around to head home no more steering message.

This might not have anything to do with the steering warning, but for 4 mos.the automatic stop has not functioned but it did today.
This is a DD, 2013 base Boxster.

Using a Porsche specific scan tool, scan the car for pending codes.

Trying not go to the dealership.

Then keep guessing. If there are faults that show up on the display, they will be listed in the pending faults list, which can only be seen with scan. No data, no one can help...........

I bought my own scan tool. It's a Foxwell best $170 I spent for my Porsche.

Will it work on a '11 997, '13 Boxster and Macan?

I will be following this to see what you discover. My issue is somewhat similar in that sometimes when I start the car I get that message and my power steering no longer works. If I turn it off and wait a few minutes and restart it but will often go back to normal. I never get the message, or loss of power steering, while driving.
