Looking for location of A/C Evaporator Housing Temp Switch

My 2008 Cayman S A/C compressor won't turn on, however, the 2 front fans turn on after 20 seconds and run continuously. My scanner indicates that the A/C evap sensor is reading -40 degrees. This reading prevents the A/C from turning on.

Part # is: 1H0-907-543-A. Diagrams show that it "should be" on the driver's side interior, above the floor vent! I have searched for the sensor location to no avail!

Any idea where this sensor is hiding??

I also removed the battery and tray from the frunk hoping that it was on the other side of the firewall, again to no avail!

Don't know what to tell you then, that is where that part number normally is located.
