A hard hydraulic brake line on our 1998 Boxster failed due to corrosion. I was returning home one day, turning off the state highway onto my country road. Briskly approaching turn-in onto a one-lane bridge, there was a sudden loss in braking power, and the pedal sank slowly to the floor under my foot. Yikes!
I found fluid dripping from a corroded spot in the exposed steel brake line located outside the car, directly below the driver’s seat. My car has 160K New England miles, spending the off season garaged with a cover. It’s seen rain and sandy unpaved roads, but never winter road salt. I found very little guidance on the internet on how to replace the body-mounted steel lines myself, so I took a few photos and wrote up this DIY to help others in the same predicament.
Here's a link to the complete DIY on GoogleDocs, which is a bit too long to post here in its full length.

If other Boxster folks think it's helpful, how would I go about submitting it to the Pelican Parts "How To" tech articles?
