Thinking about a Cayman top kit for my 2000 S ?

I'm in Glendale AZ and my top is shot.

So I have been looking into a hard top for my car.
Anybody install one of the Cayman kits ?

Looks good. And it can come off.

Thanks, Randy

I've wanted to do this to a few of my older Boxsters, before actual Caymans started to get into the "affordable" level. I think they're cool. I've heard they can require a bit of work to fit properly. But if you're up for it, I say go for it.

I imagine a replacement Boxster top is significantly cheaper and easier to install than worrying about fit/finish and painting of a fiberglass unit..

It can work but might cost more than the car is worth all in. If I wanted a Cayman, I would install a fresh soft top, sell the 2000 Boxster, buy a nice Cayman.

Going ? It has taken more than 120+ days.It got here today.
Would I do it again ? Maybe but after this fake World problem !

But its here and I will start by getting it out of its shipping box. Very well packed.
So far no damage to anything.Mane glass is good and the side glass looks good also.

I was very pissed to start with but its not their fault if the boat sat offshore for weeks. Then their is the problems and the portand then the US shipping to AZ.

But it looks good to go. I will try to post how things are going with the build.

Has anybody installed this befor and do you have any pointers ?

Randy

Things have gone south.
The top that was sent is for a 987 ? WTF.
Very pissed.

So its back in the box and ready to go back to the seller.
And that may not happen ? We will see ?

If they do nothing I will put it up for sale.
Price will be $3425,you pay for shipping from Glendale AZ 85301

I have looked at all the parts and they look great. Glass is all good.

Might as well keep it on this thread. It saves the cross-linking when people ask you about it.

I agree. keep it here. Personally I really dislike when people just post a YouTube link and say watch here for X.
