Electric window troubleshoot

1997 Boxster 986 Base model. Windows remain down. I can hear an audible click in each door when I push the respective window up switch. I assume the electrical impulse is being sent via the switch mechanism but the windows are not responding. I presume that the window regulators have failed and need replacing. Thoughts? TYIA.

The only way to confirm would be to check voltage at the regulator/motor. It would be odd if both failed at once.

Checks for codes with a scan tool. Check and clear fault codes on the window controller. This can help on the 987, not sure about the 986.

Got my door apart right now to replace the spring and cable for the interior handle. If you need pictures or anything let me know. The regulator is all plastic BTW so it may be just stripped.
