Retro fitting rear speaker kit.
Has any one installed the rear speaker kit after the fact? I was wondering how the install went. Wiring etc.

I picked up a set of rear speakers (3.5" x 4) on eBay last summer for about $350. They were not the OEMs that are 2.5". I took the kit to an car audio shop and had them install it for just under $200. The install went very smoothly and the difference in the sound quality and depth was well worth the investment.
If you are trying to save a few bucks by doing the install yourself, the kits come withh a pretty comprehensive set of instructions... Either way I say go for it! |
I just got my catalog from TWEEKS today and they have a rear speaker kit for the Boxster for $279.99. It has a pre-wired harness and all installation hardware. I'm tempted to give it a shot if I can find some free time to install it. Look at www.tweeks.com kit#406-901 for 1997-04 Boxster. I haven't checked lately but Pelican at one time sold a similar kit.

Hey Guys,
I have a pdf file of the installation intructions for the rear speakers if you want to get an idea of the process before buying. Let me know and I can e-mail it to you. |
We made a DVD of the install. Does that count? Jeff

Beats my hand! I fold. :D

Someone had to do it. Almost a year of filming and the edit stuff. We have enough tape of many projects to create 2 more DVDs plus the original 3 DVD set.
There are 2 TSBs for the rear speaker instructions. Jeff http://img15.photobucket.com/albums/...camera_115.jpg http://img15.photobucket.com/albums/...camera_113.jpg |
