hello everyone...it's been awhile since i have posted...been lurking about.
over the weekend i had two new tires mounted on my boxster...and the worst of all fears happeneed... they guy scrached the hejj out of one rim...the shop has agreeded to pay for all repairs but will need the tire and wheel to send to speedline. that could take two or so weeks to repair and return. they have no wheels that fit my car...here's the 99dollar question, does someone on this board have a set of tires and rims i could borrow/or rent for two or three weeks until mine are fixed. size can be 16 or 17. even 18...its' the rear wheels that will be needed. the car is driven only 3 to 4 hundred miles a month so tire wear would be minimal..if any. thanks p.s. i'm in so. cal. near Claremont /Upland

That shop owes you a set....same situation on my last set, but I was lucky that I was a P dealer getting my yearly and no questions asked, set me up with a temp while they attended to the mistake. Any shop dealing with high performance rubber should not have a problem keeping you on the road on their dime...you are the customer.

Tell them to call around to the local Porsche dealers to see if they can rent a set of takeoffs in the meantime. Or simply buy you a brand new wheel to replace the damaged one. Or pay for a rental car.
None of this is your fault. -Paul |
