New to me 2001 Boxster
Here's a few shots of my "new to me" 2001 Boxster. I picked it up this morning. Purchased off of ebay yesterday. I had a PPI done by Boardwalk Porsche (formerly The Porsche Store) in Plano, and it came back needing only a couple of minor things so I took the plunge.
Really fun car so far, it's been raining most of the day here so hopefully I can get it out tomorrow on the twisties! Mike |

Great color.
Congratulations. Be prepared to suffer from PermaGrin(R) for a few weeks, at least.

Hi Guys,
Yes, I'm wearing that Permagrin. I'm finding myself wanting to run many more errands than usual just to get another chance to drive. Very fun car. Mike |

If my two largest clients would just pay me what I invoiced over a month ago I'd have the cash in hand.

Mike - That's a beauty!!! Congrats!!!
Kach22 - I just traded my 70 911T to Doug&Julie (plus a wee bit o' cash) for his 99 Boxster. I love it!!! These cars are different from 911's, but every bit as fun. I've owned 2 911's over the past 10 years, so I was ready for a change....you owe it to yourself to at least go and drive one if you haven't already. Be warned, though....it'll get it's hooks into ya if you do drive one >

I think you got a really good deal on that. Kinda hurts to see them selling for that kind of money. But, hey, it makes it easier for guys like you to get one! Congrats.

cubby911T - Do they still have Bruno's pizza up in South Bend? I loved that place. Went to school at ND from 89-93. I think Bruno's was responsible for me gaining about 35 pounds during my four years at ND.
Kach22i - Take the plunge, you won't regret it if you find the right one. I've got a 72 911 T Targa as well and I enjoy the Boxster so much more due to its creature comforts. Don't get me wrong, I love the 911 as well, but I should have bought a Boxster several years ago! Milt - I was happily surprised to see the Boxster selling at that level. It's a lot of car for that price!!! I don't think they have too much depreciation left in them before they start stabilizing out. (at least that's what I've tried to convince myself of!) Take care, Mike

Hi,
All the issues were: Needed new front brake pads, small scratch on back rear bumper (revealed in ad as well), passenger side cupholder doesn't work, front bumper had been repainted but no accident damage, dealer said probably from stone chips. That's all. (some people may think that's a lot but it was minor in my estimation) Mike |

LOL!! I JUST got mine on Ebay too. Here is the link.
Got it for $26,850!!! 2000 S, Silver/black -- Litronics, Chrome 18inch turbo, Windscreen, cruise, Bose, Embroyderd seat crests and variable wipers. MINT CONDITION with 23k miles. The thing is FLAWLESS!!! Me and friend drove from Missouri to Texas in his 996-911 and took all country roads back from Tx all the way back to missouri, he in his 911, me in my new Boxster S. WHAT A BLAST! Sold my 2000 STD with 23k miles for 25k the same day. OMFG, the Boxster S is an amazing upgrade!! Other than raw pick-up, it feels like my friends 911. I think I may have gotten the best deal in the history of Boxsters!!! What do you guys think? Any suggestions as to how to get a navigation system? I WANT ONE!! I am SO HAPPY!!!!
