Looking to buy 02-05 boxster
I am currently in the market for a new daily driver to replace my 944 so it can be the dedicated race car. I am looking at 2002 S's mainly. I would love a Cayman however the prices have not quite dropped into my range (unless someone here wants to sell me one).
On saturday I will be looking at an '05 987. The down side is that it has 53,000 miles. What should I look for? Reliability issues? 60K service? Also for the more knowledgeable out there, what would you suggest I look for? I am looking for a more modern comfortable car to commute with. I would like to have a killer stereo or install one. Litronic/HID would be nice. The list of cars I am considering are: 986 S, 987, Cayman, 993, M-coupe, 996 or anything thats really cool/rare/fun. -Greg

Problem solved..... I put the money down on a 2005 base Boxster with 54K miles. It has some stone chips and a few minor scratches. But other than that everything is great and the price was right.

Saw this thread a little late, but I'd say if you're happy with the price, good call. With Boxsters, they say the newer the better. I'm hoping my next Boxster will be a post '05.
But now you have to post pics!

I have elsewhere, the 944 pelican board, 968forum.com and elsewhere. I am very happy with the car so far.
