2001 boxster s left headlight fuse

Hi,
Left Headlight on the boxster is out. It's not the bulb. I'm assuming it's a fuse or alternatively I may have botched a connection/wire if there is one for the headlight behind the dashboard panel, when I fussed with the obc.

Anyone know where the fuse for the front left headlight or any thoughts?

Ty

Fuses are located in the Left Footwell.

There should be a list of fuses on the cover, but Bentley shows High Beam Left at location A2, and Low Beam Left at A10

Are you sure the Headlight is locked in and making connection with the plug behind it?

ty for your response. seems locked in. I'll check the fusebox. neither highbeams nor regular working lights are working.

Does anything work in that Left headlight assembly? Fogs/Turn/marker?

you were right. apparently not pushed in all the way. still not sure it's pushed in completely now, even though the light works. any thoughts on how to ensure the light is completely locked in? I don't need to use the hood key to lock it in do I?

There is a hex tool to lock it in place in the toolkit.

Directions here, thanks to Wayne: Pelican Technical Article: Replacing Lenses and Blubs / Adding Clear Corners - 986 Boxster (1997-04) - 987 Boxster (2005-08)

bizarro...whenever i turn the hexwrench toward the back of the car the light pops out (according to directions it should lock in), and it really doesn't turn very much in the other direction...so simple yet, this is eluding me.

These lamps can be tricky, and it's possible to damage the latching mechanism. Remove the lamp and check to make sure the locking bar is in proper place (see the tech article). Then, put the lamp in, but don't shove it all the way in. When you rotate the key back, it should pull the lamp in with it. Also, you might want to grease the tracks slightly...

hi wayne, so it's a little hard to tell what position the locking bar is in in the picture you've posted. It looks like the locking bar is put in a position where the bend faces the bottom of the car (i.e. toward the tires)? Is that right? I tried positioning the locking bar in different positions, facing the back, facing the front, and still couldn't get it to lock in, just kept pushing it out. I don't think i tried where the bar is positioned facing down, slightly toward the front of the car.
