97 Boxster died at lunch

My friends 97 Boxster died at lunch today. Went in for lunch came out and won't start. Whats the first think I can check before calling the hook.

Cranks over, won't fire. No odd noises...

A little more detail would help!

Do the dash lights come on? Like Dad said, need more feedback. Could be as simple as a dead battery.. or a failed ignition switch.

Sounds like it could be the security immobilizer but without more details we are just throwing things out.

With the engine just turning over and not starting, I would think it would be perhaps the crank sensor, or the fuel pump? I would plug it into a code reader and see what it says, it will probably tell you straight up what the issue is.
