Convertible top stopped working
I have a 1998 Boxster. The convertible top went down, but will not go up. I hear the motor (or I think I do) but it groans for a second and nothing happens. Two questions...what can this be. And is there some way to get the top up so I can drive it to be fixed in case it rains.

It's in your manual.

You need to pop the mechanism off of the transmission - yes it's in the owner's manual. You can see my article here: Pelican Technical Article: Boxster Convertible Top Repair - 986 / 987
Here are also the pages from the owner's manual: ![]() ![]() ![]() -Wayne
