Someone Keyed My Car

Pulled in the garage yesterday morning and when the wife got out she noticed a couple of scratches on the upper driver's side fender. Some a$$hat keyed the fender and the headlight. Tried Quixx scratch remover to get it out, but no dice. It made it a bit lighter, but the scratches are still pretty noticeable. The headlight scratch is pretty deep.

I was livid all day yesterday. I reckon I'll have to take it in to get it fixed this Summer. It's not super noticeable--but I know it's there and it pisses me off.

Don't you wish you could catch those f***ers. Someone "lightly" keyed my passenger side door where I live and fortunately they didn't dig it in so I was able to get it rubbed out. The sad truth about it is I live in a retirement community and you'd think people that age would have reached adulthood.

Allot of Jealous ass's out there. I drive mine 1-2 days a week max and never leave car un-attended. I have a Taurus and 2 trucks I use as primary vehicles. Happened to me once in my own driveway years ago on a Supra.

To beat it all, when I was leaving cars and coffee this morning, three teens ran up and informed me that the gentleman driving the yellow Cayman put a ding in my passenger side door. They were proud that they got his license plate number.

Didn't need it. He's the president of our Porsche Club region. I was just talking to him a few minutes prior to him leaving. Been a banner week for Betty Blue. Gonna get some dry ice for the ding. It's about an inch long and barely noticeable, but you can see it when the sun hits it at a certain angle.

Joy.

I feel for you as I had at least a half dozen incidents like that done to my cars thru the years plus one motorcycle seat. What is it with these mental cases? The worst case was my then new 86 Audi quattro in Zermatt silver... the whole side from front turn signal to the rear signal done in deep. Had it all reprayed (was never exactly matched to that factory shade of silver) and then a week later... the %uck head did it again. After that, I just did a scar touchup and let it be. My only pleasure is hearing in the news when gang bangers or scumbags shoot each other.

I'd be apoplectic. I'm going to get some quotes on the scratches and ding tomorrow, but I have a feeling I'll be ordering some lapis metallic blue touch up paint. I'm an artist, what could go wrong? HAHA!

A few years back we did. A long story but short version is a dispute over who was first for a parking spot at the mall in a friends car; the woman who felt wronged keyed the entire side of my friends car. What she didn't know was my father was parked opposite and watching her ( she went out of her way to walk past the car ). Needless to say she was a bit surprised when we and the police were waiting for her on her return.

Sometimes it turns out the culprit is someone you'd least expect to do some low life thing like key a car. Glad to hear you caught her and I hope she got the maximum punishment and embarrassment.

Yeah, I call this the "a@shole probability/possibility factor". Which translates into ... what is the likelihood, probability or possibility I'm going to have an @sshole **uck with my car. So, like a few have posted here, I only go where the @sshole probability/possibility factor is low!

Keying you car

:(My motto: "The inconsiderate (and vandals) are lazy" Therefore, never park your car close to any entrance. Park in the back row if you have too!

Now that I'm driving a Porsche I have noticed a change in the attitudes of other drivers; I get "cut-off" more often, more trouble merging into traffic and less courtesy generally. I guess they assume I'm an arrogant prick who needs a little disrespect to knock him down a notch. Funny, my Suburban cost more than the Porsche, and I drove the same 'ol Miata for 15 years!

Some people see Porsche and they think "Rich Jerk". Oh well! Keep practicing "defensive parking" and never drive a Porsche to an arena event.

I know the feeling. I just make sure to be excessively nice to people on the road. It's funny to see the looks on their faces. Also, I avoid getting entangled in situations which are started by a phenomenon known as the "ricer flyby." :D

Ditto on the price; my 986 ran me less than a used Corolla. I was asked if I paid any less than 80 grand for the car, so that goes to show how misunderstood Porsches are. They're like any other car; it's just a matter of loving it enough to give up trunk space or the passenger capacity of a four-door for the pure bliss of open-top flat six music.
