Possible Bumper Air Ducts where those Useless Triangle Reflectors are under Headlight
Possible Bumper Air Ducts where those Useless Triangle Reflectors are under Headlight.
If you look hard there seems to be a space for air flow under where those triangle amber reflectors are so I popped off the reflector for a look. There are no screws. Just 3 friction fit fasteners on the 3 corners. Also it seems that the top of the bumper cover is also curved out as well to maybe accept an air flow. Could there be a possible air duct advantage here for brakes or radiators if those useless reflectors are removed just under the headlights. A triangular black frame with screen mesh may look better than those amber reflectors. Any thoughts or ideas? Last edited by NY930; 09-10-2011 at 09:29 AM.. |

The only reason those triangles even exist is because of the headlight washer's on the factory Lits. As for using them as air intakes, they are not in a high pressure zone, and may in fact be in a low pressure zone which would cause air to be drawn out of then, so the extra air flow gained could be minimal at best, and you would need the extra weight of ducts to get the air where you want it.
Bit of a futile endeavor...........
