My 2001 S just began having problems on the driver's side. It might be related to the record heat wave in Texas. The window lowers, but not enough to open the door smoothly. Upon closing, the window will 'snap' passed the seal and raise up approprialely. If open, I can push the window down with my hand maybe a few millimeters and of course closing is fine at that point.

1. Can I see if this is fixable without purchasing first off? what testing can I perform?

2. From reading comments here, seems to be a Window Regulator. Correct?

Thanks Wayne - keep up the excellent work!!

This is a sign of a worn out regulator or slack cable in the regulator. I have seen notes from people on how they took the regulator apart and added a spring-loaded attachment to the end of the cable to keep it tight, but I'm not sure how long that fix would last. The sure-fire solution is to replace the regulator. Unfortunately, it's not a terribly robust design.
