humming noise after turning engine off

1997 Boxster with 72,000 miles, street use. When I pull into the garage I notice a humming noise after turning the engine off. Seems to be below the filler, but not coming from it. The sound is from underside the car. I can't find what is down there in my Bentley manual. I've removed the gas cap and it still hums. Has any one else had this happen? It's always easy to fuel up and no warning lights come on.

Thanks for the information. I tried that after reading your response, it didn't help. Nothing is leaking and everything works OK. I'll just live with it. Thanks again. Dave
