2005 Boxster S Purchase

I'm very close to closing a deal on a guards red 2005 boxster S w/ 21,500 miles. Has a new Porsche exchange program crate motor w/ 2,500 miles that was installed in July 2010. What's the confidence level that i can avoid the dreaded IMS bearing failure, since i will be the master of my own destiny relative to 2500-3000 mile oil changes by a very proud owner??? THOUGHTS Thanks...........

Failures happen on a bell curve for every engine and every part in the engine. No way of predicting where yours will fall. You'll probably have the rev 3 IMS in the engine which is the best of the IMS designs as best we know now.
