2001 Boxster Base suspension

Hey Guys,

Having trouble getting to the bottom of a suspension "whir" / metallic noise that occurs around the passenger side back wheel well.

A few interesting facts that might help narrow ideas..

1. The car has to be warm.. it does not occur at a cold start-up for the first while.

2. It only happens while putting the car under load; when in neut. or at a set speed the problem noise does not occur.

3. Here is a clip of the noise

4. Transmission fluid is brand-new and name brand

5. I think the noise only occurs from 2k - 3k rpm.

Question about CV-Joints: Do they typically only go out once the cover rips/comes off?

Any ideas at where to look?

Thanks,

BG
