Found my clunk, but what is this pipe
I had a clunking noise that was impossible to find. One suggestion on this forum was sway bar links. So, I replaced all four. While I had the rear tires off, I decided to finish my hydraulic flush by bleeding the clutch slave cylinder - what a PITA. As soon as I touched the black tubing next to the tubing feeding the slave, I knew I found my problem. The tubing comes up the driver's side frame rail and and appears to go between the muffler heat shield and the floor of the trunk. It is the tube to the left not zip tied to the bracket in the picture below. It was loose and making an awful racket hitting the heat shield. Does anyone have an idea of "what it is" and "where at the back of the car it terminates?" I zip tied it to the bracket for the hydraulic line and my clunk is gone.

Looks like power steering

The picture was taken at the driver's side rear of the engine, actually beside the transmission (clutch slave cylinder). The tube extends to the rear of the car. The power steering pump is on the passenger's side top, front of the engine.
Still looking for ideas. |
It is the power steering lines, they run down the driver's side of the car:

Hey,
I managed to find picture on the Pelican parts sight that matches that hose/pipe. It's for the clutch. The picture above lacks the coil of pipe that the rubber hose bends around to connect to. In the picture in the parts section on this site the angle of the blue pipe matches as well as the coil of pipe at the end of the hose. I hope this helps. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1354299019.jpg Jeff |
Ok, that picture is pretty small. Simply go into the parts section on this site and do a search on "clutch hose" and you should find it.
